Mar Vista is a relaxed, walkable Westside neighborhood known for its mid-century homes, Venice Boulevard shops and Sunday farmers market, a few minutes from Culver City, Venice and Marina del Rey.
Situated just inland from the shoreline community of Playa del Rey, the Westchester neighborhood was not developed until the late ’20s, when then-Loyola University built there in 1928. This created a housing demand that began to transform the agricultural area. In 1932, the location served as an Olympic equestrian site.
Westchester is where you will find relatively affordable homes in the Westside.
Valuation
Westchester’s home values have gone up 9.3% over the past year and Zillow predicts they will rise 6.5% within the next year. The median list price per square foot in Westchester is $925.
